What a magical, mystical oasis has been created here on the grounds of Casa del Sol. Everywhere you look, the attention to detail brings together a feast for the eyes. We shared our morning coffee with a cardinal, a white winged dove, a hummingbird and two squirrels!

WOW! This has been the most incredible experience here at Casa del Sol! You guys have quite the amazing peaceful and beautiful area. Everything was Perfect! Just Perfect. Our 10-year anniversary celebration definitely got a boost. Thanks for all the little sweet touches. Thanks Soooooo much again!!

Frank & Michelle

It truly is one of the most romantic spots in Austin. We had a great time. Great atmosphere, perfect for a couples treat!

Jenny & Bryce

Sweet! —  A dip into heaven for a couple of days.  The dog Muffin was a treat for my sons to play with at the end of the day.  Great ambiance here.  We really appreciated experiencing your work and love that was put into your B&B.

This place is filled with warm energy!!
We appreciate how you’ve kept this place with such an eclectic feel. We felt such a peace and love while staying here!

Casey & BB

This is a wonderful magical, peaceful sanctuary.

I appreciated the beautiful breakfast set-up in our room, the wonderful creature known as Muffin who wandered in one day and quickly became a friend, and the wind chimes that sang to us.  Your home is beautiful.

Frank & Meredith

Thank you for another wonderful stay at your place… “Casa del Sol”. This was our third visit and we love it more each time. Your hospitality and the peaceful nature make this our romantic getaway. Floating in the pool in the evenings under the “Blue Moon” was magical. We heard something last night and looked below to find deer feeding on the vegetation. We always have a new experience while we are here. Our little Sheltie “Maggie” had a blast with Muffin.

This is truly a magical, wonderful place to stay!
We loved the feel of this place!…

Lucas & Julie

The rooms are really a joy to stay in, and entering through the gate at night is magical!

Julie & Sam

This place was a Shangri-La…Comfort for two weary souls recovering from a torturous Chicago winter. The peace and spiritual calm you provided was sheer heaven and to sit by the pool and bask in the sun, and to wonder about the stars at night was food for our imagination and our needy spirits!

A much needed respite and renewal for our marriage after the birth of our beautiful daughter, Anabelle. I can’t even recall the last time I felt so relaxed. Maybe our honeymoon… We celebrated our 3rd anniversary while we were here, and rediscovered our abundant love for each other. This is a very special place!

Leslie & Citris

A charming and romantic getaway where my husband and I could recharge! The attention to detail, the hard work, put in to make this an oasis! We loved it! Hard to believe we are so close to a huge city! Our room was perfectly freshened every day and we were made to feel like royalty! This has truly been a sanctuary for my heart, mind and soul. I can’t wait to return.

Tommy & Amy

…like being transported to another world from reality. Be back as soon as we can!

David & Suzi

Great to reconnect with the “sol”.
Let the sol in and the stress out…

Theresa

…the hills, trees, pool, sun; the attention to detail, the contrasts of the yard and art décor is magnificent!
Being here brought some spirituality back into my life!

Michelle & Wesley

This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. The peace and quiet allowed us a chance to reconnect on our fourteenth anniversary. Casa del Sol is a hidden gem amongst the chaos of surrounding city.

Kelly & Bekka

When we pulled up and saw a cottage, I was excited, but when I walked in, I was amazed! It is so beautiful! The touches you add, like candles and the kitchen set up. You guys thought of everything.

Olivia & Ken

…this place is heaven! Very relaxing. We will definitely come back. I would use this as a base camp for a future Austin visit, because although I like the city, an alternative quiet refuge is invaluable for recharging and an alternate perspective. So thanks! This is a B&B done right!

Robert & Robert

Great stay! Loved the room and waking up to the beautiful view of the lake every morning. We felt very at home and comfortable which we appreciated immensely. Our favorite part was the hidden hot tub and whimsical décor. We would love to stay here again some day.

Kate & Anthony

Thank you for creating this little sacred space. We loved being here together and having the chance to slow down. It is so relaxing to wake up to that beautiful view!

“Best B&B in Austin!!!”

We have stayed here numerous times in several of the suites & the ambiance is a force to be reckoned with. The pictures don’t do this place justice, it is breath-takingly beautiful. Cata & Doug are sweet, fun & kind hearted. These two know Austin & can recommend some of the neatest places to see. I highly recommend this place & I promise you will not regret giving it a try!

“Very Relaxing Experience!”

This B&B is a hidden treasure, The Lavender room was the definition of romantic, The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Everything you need is at your fingertips. We enjoyed the stars and moonlight while soaking in the hot tub. This was an unforgettably relaxing weekend. Getting the room booked was hassle free and Cata was extremely helpful and more than happy to help our visit be the best, I can’t wait until out next visit. Thank you Casa del Sol for a very memorable stay!

“Overnight visit”

This place is a hidden jewel. We loved the bedroom, location and the serene environment. The owners are very friendly and charming “innkeepers.” I will stay here always for my trips to visit grandchildren and trips to just get away.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

“Hot Tub perfection”

We stayed in the suite with the private hot tub. It was just right for an overnight couple retreat. Room was clean, pretty and had everything we needed. Grounds were dreamy (great view from our bed!) Hosts we’re unobtrusive, although I am sure they would chat more if we had wanted that. Just great.Wish I was still there.

“Charming!”

I spent a lovely night–even with torrential rains from a weather system! It was easy to find, a beautiful respite from downtown Austin, and a delightful laid back setting, with a pool and hot tub. I can’t wait to come back when the weather is better!

Stayed October 2015, traveled on business

“Anniversary Celebration!”

We came to celebrate 12 years and this was perfect! Quiet, secluded. Lush green grounds, loved the pool and hot tub. Loved waking up every morning to a sunrise from our bedroom view. Just romantic! Doug is very welcoming and hospitable and loved the decor of our suite. Tasty pastries and fruit and just made our time here memorable. Very close to Lake Travis, and not far from Austin and so we were able to enjoy many surrounding amenities. Would definitely come again.

“Great Stay”

Stayed here for Labor Day weekend, our first B&B and couldn’t have found a better spot. Very beautiful setting with almost zero intrusions other than the owner checking in to give us our morning breakfast pastries which were delicious. Stayed in the Garden Room wasn’t listed on the website but seeing the others the Garden is more secluded than the others. Will definitely come back for another visit next time we are in the area!!

“Weekend getaway”

What a pleasant surprise! Loved the privacy, the ambience, the location, the hospitality, everything was prefect! Would go back in a heart-beat! The yard is beautifully decorated, Aztec or Mexican inspired. The room and living room both are breath taking, very romantic.

“Perfect Weekend Getaway!”

The decorations were wonderful. We stayed in the lavender suite and everything about it just screamed romance.

“A Whimsical Experience”

Doesn’t get much better than this…… Doug is a fantastic host whom I communicated with mostly via phone due to him recovering from a procedure. Nonetheless, he made sure we were taken care of and was available when/if we needed him. The grounds are just plain beautiful. When you first walk in it winds through this beautiful viney sort of foliage that leads straight back to a hot tub and swimming pool. Muffin the mascot is adorable, and we just had the best stay here. Can’t wait to come back!

“Perfect Getaway Spot”

My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary weekend. The host was attentive without being intrusive. We stayed in the Lavender Suite which is decorated nicely and the bed is comfy. The views from the bay windows are spectacular. The pool is a little chilly, but was perfect to lounge around in on a hot afternoon. We have already booked our stay for next year.

“Perfect Getaway Spot”

Our daughter surprised my husband and I with a romantic getaway for our birthdays, July 26 and 29. We have stayed at several b&b’s in our 27 years of marriage but this is by far one the most relaxing, serene and comfortable ones we have ever visited. The gentle twinkling of the air chimes as we relaxed pool side, the soft sounds from the pool fountain, the chirping of birds and cicadas in the many shade trees are only a few reasons we will come back. Doug was a perfect host and we wanted to take Muffin home with us! She is such a sweet gentle little soul and she catnapped with us too lol! We grilled on the outdoor bbq and everything we needed was there at our disposal. The beds are so comfortable and the linens were cool and crisp. We spent a much needed tranquil and beautiful weekend at this wonderful hidden gem. We will definitely come back and next time stay in the Lavender suite….

“Rest and Relaxation”

I have stayed here several times (in both cottages), and I invariably have a wonderful visit. To enter the beautiful and tranquil grounds via a tin-roofed porch is to enter a truly enchanted space. The cottages are charming and comfortable as well as spotless and well-appointed. The beds are luxurious, with crisp linens and your choice of pillow. The service is excellent–the innkeepers are available and friendly without being intrusive. The fresh pastry and fruit for breakfast are always delicious. It is a delight to awaken to a nearby rooster’s crow and to fall asleep to the melodic sounds of the fountain in the swimming pool. Outdoors, guests are welcome to cook on the grill, enjoy the fire pit, take a dip in the pool, or relax in the sun or shade on the hammock or on any of the many cushioned loungers. I cannot say enough good things about Casa Del Sol. It is truly my home away from home.

Room Tip: Golden Sun cottage has a full kitchen. Lavender cottage has separate sleeping and living areas.

“Rest and Relaxation”

Let me start by saying that this place made me realize that most hotels are really not in the business of providing comfort or relaxation. Casa Del Sol was a most relaxing destination and made us forget all of our troubles. The service is great and Doug made sure that if we needed anything he was available. We rented both rooms and we were very satisfied with the level of comfort and decor. The entire property was clean and well kept. The rooms are decorated with a kitschy southwest feel (Sol is the focus) and the beds are really comfortable. The kitchen areas while a little small were very useful and the smaller unit had a full size refrigerator. this combined with the BBQ in the back yard and the comfort level gets even higher! The grounds are open and green with a fire pit and a fountain that will put you to sleep with its mellow sounds. The Jacuzzi was great and we used it every day of our stay (4 nights). The house dog Muffin was really well behaved and was not the way at any time. All in all a great place to stay and we will definitely be coming back again this year. If you like staying in hotels and you like the impersonal nature of those establishments this place is not for you. If you want to get away and enjoy yourself without any worries then this place is for you!

“Oasis in the city”

If you are looking for a super fancy, being waited on hand and foot and no peace bed and breakfast, then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for peace, serenity, quiet, charming and inviting, then welcome home. Casa del Sol at Lake Austin was by far one of the best trips we had taken in a very long time. I am from the mountains of the Sangre de Cristos in Colorado and this took me right back home. The tiles in the rooms, the ceramic suns, hammocks, everything was perfect. It is a bit on the rustic side, but that just adds to the charm.
The best perk of the trip was the resident dog Muffin. oh how we feel in love with Muffin. I am not a dog person but I must say that I had a hard time saying goodbye to her. She was so calm and quiet but loved being near us. We rented one room and our friends rented the other, so we had the entire property to our selves. So we would leave our door open to catch the breeze and have easy access to our fridge. Muffin would come in and take a nap at the foot of our bed. We just loved her lazy, calm attitude.
The hot tub was amazing, a little cool for the pool this time of year but the fountain in the pool made for such a sweet sound.
Our friends got engaged by the fire pit and I will say all of the ambient lightning made for some beautiful pictures as we caught their special moment on film.
We will most definitely return. Can’t get back soon enough!!! Thank you Doug so much!

Oh one more thing, the bed was AMAZING!!! Very comfortable and loved the eyelet accented sheets. Gorgeous!!

“Rest and Relaxation”

If you are looking for a quite, clean, relaxing, soothing, serene this is the place for you. My husband and I went for a quick honeymoon getaway and this place was perfect. Doug was so inviting and accommodating. the room was amazing so relaxing and comfy, the entire place is nice and beautiful all the flowers and trees. Very nice pool, muffin was is a sweet dog, well trained. we will be returning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Oh, what a night!”

Got married just down the road at Lake Travis and it was just a few minutes away after we left our wedding. Doug and Cata were awesome. Place looked amazing, all the pics cannot really show you this amazing little place. My wife (originally from Austin) said this was typical Austin and was thankful I found this cozy gem. It was perfect spot for us to tour the Hill Country wineries and enjoy a bottle of Cabernet in the hot tub underneath a blanket of Texas stars. Cannot wait to come back and celebrate an anniversary at Casa Del Sol!

Room Tip: Great place for couples!

“A great way to take the edge off a business trip!”

Needed a little more relaxed atmosphere for three days of meetings with our Austin sales force and other business in Austin. Decided to give this a try. Doug was a great host, attentive to our needs but extremely respectful of our privacy. Room (Lavender Suite) was well-appointed, beautifully furnished, and immaculately maintained. It was extremely cold the week of our visit, so I could only stare longingly at the beautiful swimming pool (although our 9 week old puppy did go for a swim, lol) – however, the hot tub was heavenly. On the second night, we needed a little more space, so we rented the cottage for our guests as well – Doug accommodated that without a hitch. Amenities (including YUMMY morning pastry’s) were first class. We will be staying here again.

“Wonderful!”

This was a very sweet, clean and great B & B. I loved my stay and was just across Lake Austin from my sons house so it was a wonderful location for me. Breakfast rolls and fruit was so good and the selection of coffee was to die for, plus the hot chocolate was wonderful at night. Will stay there again if they have an opening.

“Leisure at it’s best”

My daughters and I take a “girls only” trip every August before they go back to college. We’ve usually gone to a beach but this year, I wanted to be near water, but not the sand and wind of the beach. I found Casa Del Sol on line and loved the pictures posted on their site. You’re never really sure if what you’re seeing is what you’ll get, well not so with this location. The pictures don’t do it justice. We fell in love with the serenity of the location including the pool and hot tub. The warmth of the Southwest decor made it feel like we were in our own living room. The view of the sunrise over Lake Travis from the deck is breathtaking. The hosts were charming and helpful, but not intrusive. We’ll definitely go back.

Highly Recommended!!!!

We have never stayed at a B&B before. This was a wonderful experience. Very relaxing! Doug was awesome and we loved little Muffin ( sweet little dog). We will definitely be back.

“Our new favorite!”

This is my fiancé and my new favorite getaway spot! Not only because he proposed to me at this romantic little B&B, but because it is the perfect place to relax for the weekend! The rooms are clean and cozy and their quirkiness is charming! The owners provide great service without being ever-present, giving you plenty of time for privacy out by the pool, on your porch, lounging in one of many comfy spots, or enjoying the view! We will be back at least once a year!

“the best R and R”

This property and suite was the most private and relaxing places we have stayed. We enjoyed every second! Romantic but also very suited for a man as well. I talked my hubby into a gorgeous leather sofa like theirs for our home; the front blew in and we snuggled in on theirs for a movie and appreciating the real wood fire. The suite allowed us to spend most of our time enjoying the property. The hot tub under the stars, with beautiful views of the lake and lights sealed the deal. The pool was perfect for larger groups as well. There was plenty of spots to lounge, even an outdoor shower. We thought it would be possible to have an intimate wedding there. We thought we might have used a microwave but they had plenty of beautiful dishes to eat in meals there. They had real wine glasses for sitting in front of the fire and watching a movie. We express appreciation to the owners for accommodating us at the last minute; it was a perfect place for recharging !

“Wonderful and cozy”

We were there for four days and it was so nice and romantic (as much as can be with a four year old along). Our cottage was so romantically decorated! We had a small kitchen with all appliances needed. The property was clean and well cared for. The owner, Doug, was very nice and helpful but also gave us our space. I am so ready to go back to this BB!!!

“Casa del Sol at Lake Travis”

My husband and I just spent this past weekend (April 1-3 2011) here. We were absolutely thrilled with the room and the privacy.Along with a romantic flair too. We needed some quiet, relaxing, LAZY time and that is exactly what we got here. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area if you are looking for that . Such peaceful surroundings made it well worth the stay. The room was very clean and Doug took care of everything. Fresh pastries, fruit, coffee& coffee cream. What we liked MOST was there was not a CLOCK of any kind in the room. Small thing, but when you live your lives on schedules during the week that was a nice plus to us. Only down side was, there was a BIG golf tourney on TV(Shell Open) and there was no ESPN in the room. Wasn’t a down side for me,only hubby.:) We recommend this B&B highly if you are looking for “down” time.
