“Casa del Sol at Lake Travis”
My husband and I just spent this past weekend (April 1-3 2011) here. We were absolutely thrilled with the room and the privacy.Along with a romantic flair too. We needed some quiet, relaxing, LAZY time and that is exactly what we got here. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area if you are looking for that . Such peaceful surroundings made it well worth the stay. The room was very clean and Doug took care of everything. Fresh pastries, fruit, coffee& coffee cream. What we liked MOST was there was not a CLOCK of any kind in the room. Small thing, but when you live your lives on schedules during the week that was a nice plus to us. Only down side was, there was a BIG golf tourney on TV(Shell Open) and there was no ESPN in the room. Wasn’t a down side for me,only hubby.:) We recommend this B&B highly if you are looking for “down” time.
“Leisure at it’s best”
My daughters and I take a “girls only” trip every August before they go back to college. We’ve usually gone to a beach but this year, I wanted to be near water, but not the sand and wind of the beach. I found Casa Del Sol on line and loved the pictures posted on their site. You’re never really sure if what you’re seeing is what you’ll get, well not so with this location. The pictures don’t do it justice. We fell in love with the serenity of the location including the pool and hot tub. The warmth of the Southwest decor made it feel like we were in our own living room. The view of the sunrise over Lake Travis from the deck is breathtaking. The hosts were charming and helpful, but not intrusive. We’ll definitely go back.
“Unique with loads of personality…not just another hotel room.”
A truly Austin feel; owners were on-site and attentive while private and respectful. We stayed in the Lavender Suite, which was spacious for the two of us, romantic, and beautiful! The bed was Super Comfy and Super Soft, the view of the trees on the cliffside below (and the lake beyond) was quite pretty. We highly recommend and we’re likely to visit again next time we’re in Austin. The breakfast was always yummy and the peaceful grounds were lovely. Thank you Doug And Cata, it was wonderful!
“A honeymoon to remember……”
My husband and I stayed here for a week at the recommendation of friends who had stayed there for their anniversary. Doug and Cata were just great down-to-earth people and so helpful in accomodating our every need: told us all of the hot spots in Austin and Lake Travis, restaurants, eclectic shops to visit, and just fun local things to do. Every day we woke up to organic pastries/coffee as well as fresh fruit. to enjoy while sitting on the balcony with the most amazing view of Lake Travis. The pool area was so inviting with hammocks, lounge chairs, and firepit. We quite enjoyed the hot tub and are looking foward to enjoying the pool on our next visit at the end of June. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Lavendar Suite and will have many wonderful memories of our honeymoon.
“A hidden treasure…..”
My husband and I stayed here because my daughter and her husband loved this place. The minute you step through the bamboo gate, it’s like a secret garden. The property is beautiful with lots of greenery and plants. Can’t wait to go back and try out the pool. Waking up in the Lavendar Suite to the awesome view each morning was a treat. A very relaxing trip! I highly recommend it to all!
What a wonderful place to recharge our souls. Three weary women needing peace and solitude and your place was perfect. The beautiful gardens and view—the lovely Lavender Suite—Perfecto!
